Not a great week...

... but it is what it is.

We had clear skies which means we had really cold overnight temps...

The morning sky has a blank expression with a tiny moon and not a single cloud.

And then there's the local tragedy of a fire which resulted in the total loss of an RV which was someones' home.

The result of a fire that reportedly was accelerated by a burst propane tank (hear-say info).

It doesn't happen often but it's been our experience that when an RV has a fire it's a total loss including personal possessions. We've seen 3 RV fires in our 17 years following this life style and each time the result was pretty much the same: a total loss.

There appears to be salvaged (?) items from the fire in the image above. Those items you see have been moved forward of the RV remains but I don't know if they are from the casita (located to the left) or if any of these things are from the RV. What remains of the RV appears to be a charred fragment of the steel frame and what seems to be a piece of one fiberglass panel. Our local fire department is of course investigating and nothing can be done (or believed!) till after that report is filed.

Both occupants survived the fire but both were injured and spent time in the local hospital. My info is dated and I don't know where they are at the moment nor do I know the current status of the investigation.

And the neighbor's casita on the adjacent lot to the right in the photo above is a brick structure. It appears to have survived without damage except the windows which faced the fire... they are gone. Seems like a sound recommendation for using brick to build a casita!

And here's an 'oh by the way'... We didn't hear a thing. Fire engines arrived, put out the fire, and we heard nothing. Nada. Now that's a little scarey!

And yes I consistently (?) misspell 'scary' as 'scarey'. Scary sounds like something with a lot of scars whereas scarey sounds like something that scares you. So I'm leading a one person campaign to promote 'scarey' as the new correct spelling of 'scary'.
