Seemed too easy; sure enough...
This is the old V1 power board. Looking kind of dingy from smoke inhalation. It's the result of putting the power board in the exhaust path of the cooling tray. Most things are pretty well thought out on this roaster, but... really?!
Installation of a replacement V2 power board is an upgrade which means I had to buy the new board since the mfr thinks the older design works adequately. It went pretty well. The new board went in without trouble except for removing/reattaching the legs of the roaster. A PITA trying to reach 2 of the 4 screws on each leg-pair. Those 2 screws on each pair are installed at an angle without sufficient clearance to rotate an Allen wrench. But a little patience (hah! that'll be the day!) and I managed to get everything back together.
The control panel was another story. All the installation instructions are for upgrading a V1 or V1.5 roaster. Those instructions assume a control panel assembly of that same vintage. I am replacing the control panel PCB as part of a warranty repair and it's a new design. That new design uses a different cable for connecting from the control board to the IBTS. The IBTS consists of an infra-red sensor plus a fan for that sensor. As part of the control board re-design, the old interconnecting cable with 2 connectors on the control board end (and one at the sensor) was replaced with a cable having a single sub-miniature connector at the control board end. There's no way to use the old cable.
Julio came to the rescue (he's my hero; and he was in working on Saturday) and has a substitute cable on the way to me via USPS. Probably take awhile, so I get a few (more) days off.
